To Cleanse, Hallow & Prepare Spell Components for a Magical Working

Begin by placing all necessary spell materials on the workspace and preparing yourself for your magical working as normal. When ready, call on the spirits of your practice—be they ancestors, familiars, land spirits, or other spirit allies—using a spoken charm such as:

By breath, by bone, by flame, by stone,
I walk the crooked path alone.
Spirits distant, spirits nigh,
Attend me now beneath the sky.

Place your hands on or above the spell components and say a charm such as:

By wily ways, by the crooked roads,
By wild gods and hidden hosts,
I call you now to lend your grace
And bless these tools for time and place.

This petition should be followed by a pause to allow the practitioner to sense the presence and movement of the spirits or receive any insight they may offer. The space may then be left quietly, allowing the your hallowed tools to charge or you may continue working with them, adding herbs and other supportive elements, or beginning your working.
